Project Overview

Lambda Engineering designed and detailed a high-clearance steel industrial facility equipped with multiple EOT cranes and an integrated external access staircase tower. The project required a robust framing system capable of supporting crane runway loads, mezzanine access, and façade cladding under harsh site conditions.

Design & Engineering Features

  • Structure Type: Heavy-duty steel portal frame structure with crane runway girders and full side cladding.

  • Height: Approximately 18–20 meters clear height to accommodate multiple cranes.

  • Access System: Independent steel staircase tower providing operator and maintenance access to roof and equipment decks.

  • Framing System: Built-up columns and rafters with cross-braced bays for lateral stability.

Engineering Highlights

  • Designed per AISC 360-16 and ASCE 7-16 for structural, wind, and crane loading.

  • Crane girder deflection limited to L/1000 for operational precision.

  • Detailed 3D model prepared for clash-free erection sequencing.

  • Erection executed with bolted connections and modular crane alignment tolerances ≤ 2 mm.

Outcome

A structurally efficient, accessible, and safe industrial staircase designed for heavy-duty operations, ensuring long-term serviceability and ease of maintenance.
